From Traditional Dentistry to Digital Innovation: A Modern Zirconia Pinlay Workflow

Can conventional restorative techniques still have a place in today's digital dental landscape? In this published study, Dr. Les Kalman and Lina Kalman explore a novel workflow that combines traditional dentine pin-retained restorations (pinlays) with modern digital technologies, including intraoral scanning, CAD/CAM design, digital shade matching, thermography, and zirconia milling. The investigation demonstrates how classic restorative principles can be enhanced through digital dentistry to create conservative, durable, and efficient treatment options.
